Shiny: “It”?
Emmie: The idea that… nothing is forever…
Shiny: *shhff – reaches over to take pen and paper and starts to write*
One of the terms in my foundational knowledge bank is “mono no aware”. Is it in yours?
Emmie: (Uhh… mo-no no AA-wa-ray?) No. What’s that?
[Writing on paper: 物の哀れ mono no aware]
Shiny: “Mono” means thing, and “aware” means pathos or sensitivity. The “no” connects the two in a possessive form. It is a feeling of gentle wistfulness about the impermanence of things.
