One and then multiple researchers puzzle over a misbehaving piece of equipment.
But when a researcher arrived on Monday morning, she found one of the units had shut itself off.
“That’s odd,” she thought to herself, after making sure there hadn’t been a power outage.
She turned it back on and went to get some coffee.
When she returned, the unit was off again. This continued repeatedly. Finally, the researchers disabled shutdown.
Out of exasperation, one of the researchers said, jokingly:

Researcher: Come on, why are you doing this?
